Almond Milk
The dry fruit named almond is used to make almond milk. The process is simple. Almond milk can be made by soaking the almonds in water and later on grinding them in the same. Almonds have been loved by all right from the olden days. It’s considered to be a very rich dry fruit that is good for the brain and sharpness. Earlier however, it wasn’t easy to prepare almond milk. Today, with the development in technology, grinders, mixers and blenders are used to prepare almond milk.
Almond milk is a very rich source of protein and it also stays fresh for a longer time as compared to other milk. Goat, sheep or cow milk needs to be used as it has been bought home or it will definitely get spoilt. Almond milk, on the other hand can be stored and used for a longer duration. As almonds by itself are dry in nature, the storage is quiet simple and it doesn’t require any extra care.
Almond milk is considered to be extremely nutritious and is counted as being fat free. It eliminates the problem of indigestion for those who are allergic to lactose as almond milk is lactose free. However, doctors do not advice almond milk for children as they may get exposed to the allergies caused by almond milk at an early age.
Almonds are popular to be used in recipes. However, now days almond milk is also being used in recipes and many prefer roasted almond milk in the recipes as they claim to say that the flavor of roasted almond milk is very rich. Almond milk is available in the market or stores but it is available at only a few stores and is considered to be rare. It is not as much popular as cow milk or soy milk but still to a certain extent used and appreciated by a good amount of people.
Almond milk is considered to be very useful and has many health benefits. Almond milk is loved and preferred a little more, as it tastes better then rice milk and soy milk. Almonds are rich in vitamin E. Apart from this, it also consists a good amount of Vitamin C which is very much required for prevention against cancer, stroke and liver disease. Those who are heart patients should regularly drink almond milk as it consists of monounsaturated fats that help in reduction of any kind of heart disease. Overall, almond milk is not a bad option over cow milk or rice milk. However, the change should just be a temporary one and one must not forget that almond milk provides different nutrients and cow’s milk provides different nutrients.
